The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, today held a statement to the media from the blue headquarters, where he harshly attacked Prime Minister Edi Rama for Fiscal Peace, describing it as a mechanism for laundering criminal money.
Berisha said that the Fiscal Peace openly sanctions the amnesty of illegal capital, which according to him includes drug money and the criminal activities of Albanian cartels, as well as their partners in Latin America.
"Edi Rama, the main spokesman in Europe for drug cartels in Albania and Latin America, with the so-called Fiscal Peace, has sanctioned an amnesty for drug money, crime, not only of the powerful Albanian cocaine and cannabis cartels, but also of their partners in Latin America.
A law, which the US government, the EU, but also other partner countries, opposed in the most decisive way two years ago, Edi Rama has voted in principle in parliament. This act is the strongest public support that Ramaduro, the head of the first and only narco-state in Europe, gives to the Albanian drug cartels and their partners in Latin America," said Berisha.
According to Berisha, the approval of this law constitutes "the strongest act of public support for drug cartels," while emphasizing that the Democratic Party and its deputies in committees have consistently held clear positions against the initiative.
