A day after the protest on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, where there were clashes between opposition supporters and police, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha thanked each protester for their resistance. Berisha said that Albanians are grateful for the sacrifice that together we will continue until the final departure of Edi Rama.
"I bow with the greatest respect to those tens of thousands who joined yesterday in the streets and squares of Tirana in a magnificent uprising to defend the honor, the dignity of every Albanian. To defend the most beautiful dream of Albanians, integration into Europe. To defend their future in Albania. It was a protest, the eighth peaceful uprising, with an extraordinary global echo. A battle like in a legend against the now world-famous duo, Rama-Balluku. Against the theft and plunder of Albanian citizens. With this protest, with this uprising, with these sacrifices, you prove to Albanians that you remain invincible in the face of an evil that is eroding this nation like no other invasion in its entire history, in the face of a regime that represents the first and only narco-state in Europe", said Berisha.
The democratic leader continued by saying that the protesters yesterday on the boulevard were a great beacon of hope for all Albanians who still do not dare to emerge from the emotions of fear.
"Yesterday, on the grand boulevard of Tirana, you were the most excellent ambassadors, the most dignified representatives, the true elite of the nation, of its conscience before every Albanian and before the partners, friends of Albania around the world. And for a moment I would ask you to imagine if we were silent, if we were not in a tooth-for-tooth confrontation with the regime, what a real disaster it would be for Albania and the Albanians.
How would anti-Albanian racists exploit this, as they expressed three weeks ago that Albanians are accustomed to theft and corruption? Imagine if the opposition were not in a fierce confrontation, but were listening to Edi Rama's miserable vuvuzelas.
These amoral critics who, instead of joining the opposition people, shield Edi Rama, do everything to discourage his protest.
Albania is eternally grateful to you. Albanians are eternally grateful to you for this sacrifice that we will continue until the final removal of this great evil. Of this man who has set the morals of his regime, the morals of his executioner fathers. Of this man who blocked the boulevard of peaceful protest to show the fear and horror he has of the protesters. Of this man who is served by villains, criminals, looters in all the functions of his narco-state. But we stand and will stand undefeated", said Berisha.
