The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted through a video message to the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama, accusing him of manipulating facts and repeating lies.
Regarding the European integration process and the resolution approved with the votes of the SP and DP, Berisha stated that the opposition supports integration for geopolitical reasons, but according to him, Albania does not meet the criteria for membership in the European Union.
"Apart from the geopolitical criterion, Albania absolutely does not meet any criteria for membership in the European Union, but the opposition supports this process as a process dictated by geopolitics and has never thought and does not think of blocking the process. The resolution from alpha to omega does not contain any words of appreciation for the work of the government or parliament, but simply lists the requirements and tasks necessary for the integration process," Berisha stressed.
The DP leader also focused on public procurement, stating that according to international assessments, Albania has suffered a significant decline in transparency and public tendering standards. He also raised accusations of illegal benefits from people who, according to him, are connected to the prime minister.
Berisha also criticized Rama's statements during a conference in Tallinn, where the prime minister compared Albanians to the Taliban, describing this stance as offensive and unacceptable.
The democratic leader also rejected Rama's claims about a lack of historical contacts with Russia, stating that over the years there have been several official visits between the two countries.

Dear citizens! Today again in his Sunday monologue, Edi Rama unleashed a series of lies and fabrications. Thus, after being branded by the Tender Europe institution, which in its tender evaluations in 38 countries found that Albania had a dramatic decline from 2010 to 2026, from 80 points it had in 2010-2013, it falls to 64 points in 2026 and each of you can see this graph of this institution.
In addition, Europe Tender finds that transparency has dropped to 50 points and the dramatic thing is that red flags have 40% of tenders and in this context I remind you here that it is Edi Rama's cronies who have won hundreds of secret tenders in violation of the law and in just one year have received 800 payment transactions from the state treasury. So, the more a lie is repeated, the blacker it becomes and it does not become true. Secondly, in his monologue, he stopped at a conference held in Tallinn, where in the most irresponsible way he compared, without blushing, without turning yellow, Albanians with the Taliban, trying to be interesting that Albanians are in their belief in the West like the Taliban of Europe.
Nothing connects Albanians with the Taliban. Neither their past, nor their faith, nor politics, nor anything else connects them. They are a branded terrorist organization and comparing your nation with an organization like that shows you that you are a dirty person, that you are ready to say any word to make yourself interesting. But at this conference, he received the answer he deserves, the leader or not to say the global fool. The moderator of the conference rejected his theses, his advice for Europe and this rejection was applauded by the audience, which made Edi Rama very nervous and he forgot that it is an international conference, he started saying that I did not say this or that. In addition, at this same conference, he repeated his banal lie that from the 1960s until today, Albania and Russia have not had any exchange of visits, at a time when there have been at least over 12 visits, including those of presidents, prime ministers, parliament speakers, and Sergei Lavrov himself, who in 2004 came to Albania and initiated a friendship treaty with Edi Rama's Party.

The truth is that the opposition has a thesis from which it does not budge, that Albania, apart from the geopolitical criterion, absolutely does not meet any criteria for membership in the European Union, but the opposition supports this process as a process dictated by geopolitics and has never thought and does not think of blocking the process.
