The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, held a meeting with producers of medicinal plants, a sector he described as one of the most important for the country's natural economy.
Berisha emphasized that Albania is one of the richest countries in biodiversity and medicinal plants with extraordinary commercial potential, but which, according to him, has been neglected by the state.
He denounced the negative impact of "narco-euros" on the economy of this sector, promising a radical change in support policies and a doubling of the budget for agriculture and the medicinal plant industry.
"One of the most important sectors of natural Albania. Albania is the richest country in its biodiversity, it has a great wealth in medicinal plants that have an inexhaustible market that are not supported by the state.
In recent years, this sector has also suffered a major blow from the narco-euro. The devaluation of the euro from the euro of poisonous drugs has caused hundreds to go bankrupt.
We are committed to overturning the system's attitude towards agriculture and your sector. We will double the budget for the sector.
"Logistical opportunities will be created for the collection and processing of these plants," said Berisha.
