The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the opposition's next national protest will be even bigger, although he did not give a concrete date for when it will take place.
In a press conference, he repeated the accusations against the police, claiming that bear spray was used on protesters during last Friday's protest. According to him, the opposition's reaction will continue to be strong.
"The opposition will respond forcefully, the next protest will be announced very soon, and the next peaceful uprising will be the most magnificent the country has ever known," Berisha said.
During his speech, he described the prime minister as the greatest enemy of Albanians after Enver Hoxha and called on opposition forces to unite in a common front to remove him from power.
"We have made the maximum and right concession that this union should be based on the real contributions of each party. This proposal of theirs has been reviewed by our coalition, accepted by our coalition, and we wish that every opposition political force that finds there what is honest and right unites on the basis of real contribution. Let us unite, and create a broad and common front against this government to return the free vote and remove Edi Rama from power," Berisha added.
