Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, during a conversation today with his followers on social platforms, commented on the elections and the "Election Farce", as he calls it.
He said that in the elections of April 25, the Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha was corrupted by Prime Minister Rama and the idea of a coalition between the two parties was discussed in the party.
Berisha declared that he will go to the end to clarify the electoral crimes, as for him this is a vital issue.
"What I can tell you is that our effort to identify the electoral farce of May 2023 continues in every segment and cell of it. In a process that I consider to be the protection of the vote, and indeed in the event that we do not fulfill this obligation, we de facto legitimize the ugliest electoral farce in the history of the country. Therefore, we are working intensively every day to achieve this objective, as we will proceed to a full analysis of all the problems that were found during the elections by the DP and in the DP. This process is not completely in our hands because this process depends on the procedures, which are outside the powers of the DP and are in the hands of the institutions. This process must be completed as soon as possible, but there are stages that go through the CEC, KAS and the Electoral Court. There are many documents, countless, which are not in the PD archives, but in the CEC archives. They take time to prepare and give to the political forces as required, they require the will not to be hidden. So, we are dealing with a very important analysis of millions of electoral lists, of names, of addresses. It's a really complex process. But I want to emphasize two things. This process is progressing and progressing successfully. Secondly, during this time in my communications with the citizens, but also with the democrats, I find that in some cases, it is suggested to me not to deal with this process. I note that there are democrats who feel, I would say not satisfied with the fact that we speak and denounce the theft of votes and the electoral farce, since they say that this is a practice that the PD has already made common. I want to make a clarification here. There are several problems with this attitude. First, if we do not do this, we de facto legitimize, we bow our heads before Edi Rama's electoral fatherhood. We, de facto, tell him that we do not have a special position and indirectly give him the green light that in the next elections, he will deepen even more the monstrous electoral crime. Second, where is this attitude in this election different from the attitude that was held in the previous elections? It is true that in the 2021 elections there has been talk of an electoral massacre. I wrote two days after the voting that the vote of the Albanian citizens died without entering the box. I defended the thesis in the most repeated way that Edi Rama did not win those elections. I have based this statement first on the use by Edi Rama, according to the official invoices of the State Treasury, of 93 million euros in April. that were disbursed to families that suffered from the earthquake. If we take March as well, 130 million have been disbursed. With this money, Edi Rama, who got the majority with only 3 more MPs, beyond all doubt managed to buy at least 6 to 8 MPs. This action was a blatant action that could never be done in an election campaign. For this very reason, I declared that the vote died without entering the box. The second major factor that emerged in that electoral massacre, as the former DP chairman called it, was the patronage factor, which was armed with the personal data of 1 million citizens, to exercise all forms of psychological terror on them and which was denounced before the elections in the strongest way by Transparency International. What happened after April 25? Was the vote protected, did DP stand in defense of the vote? The truth is that the opposite happened. Edi Rama had corrupted the head of this party. Here in this headquarters, the ideas for the coalition in September with the SP are buzzing. If the protection of the vote had happened the first time, this terrible farce would not be what it is today. This work being done is of vital importance in many respects and we will see it patiently to the end."- said Berisha.
