The Secretary for Legal Affairs in the Democratic Party, Rezart Kthupi, speaking about the legal battle between the Democrats for the seal of the Democratic Party, said that they will emerge victorious against the Reestablishment group.
Through a direct communication in the News24 studio, Kthupi said that the latest decision by the Supreme Court is positive as it has solved the problem of recognition of the two parties, but also ordered the review of the merits of the case by the Appeal.
According to him, within the DP they are sure that the December 11 Assembly organized by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha will not be recognized.
As for the time limits, Kthupi said that the case can be resolved before the spring of next year, while when asked what will happen if the court gives the right to Reestablishment, he said that "this will be left to time".
" The decision of the Supreme Court is very positive and solves the problem of recognizing the two parties. The second is the request that we entrusted to the Appeal, the review of the merits of the case. The Court of Appeal refused to do so, but the Supreme Court required it.
We have requested that the case be resolved as soon as possible. We are convinced that it will be proven that the Assembly of December 11 does not apply the criteria and laws for political parties. That's why we believe that saving time on the scales of justice is a positive thing. Today, PD is officially recognized with chairman Lulzim Basha.
We hope that the issue will be resolved before the spring of next year. If the court decides in favor of Reestablishment, that will be left to time. We are very confident that if the judgment is made on the merits we will not lose this case. Basha and all the leadership structures of the DP have faith in the lawyers to win the case ", he said.
