Democratic Party MP, Luan Baçi, has called on the government and the Municipality of Fier to help farmers affected by the floods.
He says that throughout the surrounding area, floods caused by the overflowing Seman River have severely affected dozens of farming families.
According to Baçi, the situation is dramatic as agricultural lands are under water and farmers' crops have been destroyed.
The MP calls on the Ministry of Agriculture to take immediate measures to verify damages and compensate farmers, contradicting the statements of institutions that speak of "the situation under control".
"Farmer Erjon Gjojdeshi in the village of Petovë, along with many other farmers in the area, have suffered significant damage to their crops as a result of the Seman River overflowing its banks."
Farmers appeal to the responsible institutions, the Municipality of Fier and the Ministry of Agriculture, to carry out their duty, by verifying the damage caused and compensating the farmers, instead of continuing with the tired lies and propaganda that 'there are no problems with flooding in Fier' and that 'the situation is under control'.
In reality, the damage is extensive and in some areas residents are in serious difficulties. It is in these cases that the state should show responsibility and seriousness, which unfortunately, it has never shown.
