Erion Braçe, the Socialist Party MP, says he has taken the idea of running for mayor of Tirana seriously.
Braçe offered himself as the SP candidate for the elections expected to be held in the spring of 2027, but it seems that he has not yet built trust among his followers on social networks. This is confirmed by the SP MP himself, who in a video message, emphasizes that citizens have asked him if he is serious about running or if he is making fun of people.
In his response, the socialist who is ready to give up his mandate as an MP to run for Mayor, says that he has never made fun of people. "It is unlikely that I would make fun of people, I will go to the end, not for personal interest, but I think we have a very big opportunity to develop this city," says Braçe.

Braçe's highest position in the administration, beyond the fact that he has been a member of parliament since 1996, was that of Deputy Prime Minister in one of Rama's governments. He was unable to leave a mark in this position, while recently he has been seen making various denunciations in areas of the capital, often taking on the role of an 'oppositionist' within the ranks of the socialists.
