Socialist leader Edi Rama has continued his ironic attacks on Sali Berisha. During an electoral meeting with the citizens of Lexzhë, he called the opposition leader a "swamp owl" who is eating those in his party.
"The owl says it is gathering women to separate them from the men, but the more men we gather, the more women are coming to us. Look, we have more men than in the past, right? Yes, because they brought women. Those who cry out that I am bullying the birds, satire and caricature are the highest form of communication. When I compare you to a bird that sits on top of a swamp and is bullied, I say and do what I see, I do not see a leader but an owl. Now a different style has begun, the owl sits and eats its own millet, eats the worms, toads and frogs that are there.
"You've seen their swamp, the people who come there for meetings are left in the sun and he sits in a tent. He ate them in the primaries too, they're gone. Dash Sulën, the sea rooster of Peqin, won the primaries, you don't see him at all. The owl can't eat him because he's a rooster. The owl doesn't want people with personality. It doesn't want insects that can become butterflies. The owl loves the scum that it keeps tied to itself and that feeds the whole world every time it goes out on the street," he said.
