And while Doshi has been aggressive in his campaign, attacking both Berisha and the mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, as well as the political leader of the SP in the region, Rama today chose to issue a clear warning to Kristian Shkreli.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, also the leader of the Socialist Party, was in Shkodër today, where he held electoral meetings in the framework of the May 11 elections. Beyond the promises and jokes directed at Sali Berisha and the new parties, which he compared to swamps, marshes, toads and owls, Edi Rama did not spare a warning against one of the socialist mayors, Kristian Shkreli. The latter heads the Municipality of Vau i Dejës, which is considered a vote bank for Tom Doshi's Social Democrats.
And while Doshi has been aggressive in his campaign, attacking both Berisha and the mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci, as well as the political leader of the SP in the region, Rama today chose to issue a clear warning to Kristian Shkreli.
"Kristian, don't play with me with two goals, Kristian," Rama addressed Shkreli, as this warning attracted the attention of those present.
From the video circulating, it appears that Rama's warning caught the mayor of Vau i Dejës off guard, who seems confused by the way the Prime Minister addressed him.
Shkreli has been leading the Municipality of Vau i Dejës for two years as a Socialist candidate, but it seems that in the May 11 elections he is working not for the SP, but perhaps for Doshi's PSD.
During his speech, Rama did not spare any jabs at the PSD, whose councilors did not vote regarding the beaches in Velipojë.
Despite public statements made a few days ago by Tom Doshi that the votes of PSD deputies will be on the side of the SP in the Assembly, it seems that Rama cannot swallow the fact that his government depends on Doshi's votes or mandates.
Under these conditions, it seems that the Prime Minister is carefully monitoring his supporters in the Shkodra District, where Tom Doshi is also running, and has stated that he is aiming for 3 parliamentary mandates in this district in the May 11 elections.
On several occasions, during the parliamentary election campaign, there have been clashes between Doshi and several SP figures, while the PSD leader accuses them of removing supporters from the positions they hold in the administration.
Although this 'clash' is considered a game in progress, it seems that Edi Rama will not tolerate his local elected officials working for the PSD, even if it is an ally of the SP. At the opening of the campaign, Benet Beci promised that there will be a surprise result from the Shkodra Region, i.e. more mandates than in the 2021 elections, where the socialists received 5 deputies. It now remains to be seen whether this new objective of Rama's socialists can be achieved or whether this is being jeopardized by Doshi's game. /Pamphlet/
