Democratic Party MP Dashnor Sula delivered a harsh and self-critical speech at the plenary session of the Parliament, where he did not spare even his opposition colleagues.
He declared that Parliament has turned into a theater, where actors play positive and negative roles. According to him, opposition MPs are agreeing to be "salaried" for the next four years.
"I feel happy that I will be part of a theater for the next four years, of this hall that has been transformed into a stage with two actors: those who play the positive roles and the opposition who plays the negative roles," said Sula.
The DP MP added that the opposition is disappointing and citizens have forgotten them due to a lack of credibility and internal division.
He emphasized that after 30 years in politics, this is the speech he would not want to give, especially considering the situation the Democratic Party is in. Dash Sula said that he will not blame Edi Rama this time, but the opposition itself for the defeat in the 2025 elections.
"I will not talk about Edi Rama, nor about the manipulations of the 2017, 2021 or 2025 elections, not because they did not happen, but because we ourselves have failed to be a credible alternative. We lost the elections because of ourselves, and this is the truth that we must say out loud within the DP ," he declared.
There was also a call for Sali Berisha to step down and pave the way for the DP to be saved.
"I would appeal to you here from the Assembly, if you still feel sorry for this creature that you built yourself, step down and leave the free and equal competition. Trust in the Democrats, not as you did in 2013 when you gave your little one away and destroyed the political career of Sokol Olldashi. It is time for you to enjoy with your family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren this energy that God has given you and paved the way for the salvation of the DP," he said.
