Lulzim Basha will be on Sali Berisha's list for the 2025 elections. A strong statement from Democratic MP Dashnor Sula. According to him, Basha was the administrator of the DP, but the decisions were made by Berisha.
"I see that in the end Basha will be on Sali Berisha's list. Stupid me, I'm left banging my head against the wall. Berisha means that; for the sake of the opposition, we also need Luli, who has been president for 8 years, to be included in the PD lists. We all need to understand this. We will see how the changes in the electoral code will be made. It is to be seen that Basha was never the chairman of DP, but Berisha was the administrator, de facto owner. Basha's mentor was Berisha, Berisha dictated the decisions. It is not the power of Basha non grata".
The democratic deputy called on Berisha to distance himself from running for prime minister in the elections and not to recycle figures that the citizens do not like. If PD continues under these conditions according to Sula, there is no chance of victory.
"Undoubtedly, Sali Berisha is the leader of the DP, he has the majority of democrats, but these are not enough to come to power, even the 49% taken cannot take power. I have always asked that we should be together, but if you say with the conditions that Sali Berisha dictates, you don't give me confidence. If you want to continue with recycling figures after recycling, we have no alternative, you cannot win the recycling of 2013 and the following ones that the Albanian electorate despised. Sali Berisha must declare publicly by September that he is not a candidate for prime minister and if he does this he has done an extraordinary service to the DP of the opposition and the chances of the DP coming to power exist, but in this state the chances are zero . This is political ingenuity, like Ali Ahmeti in Macedonia, or Kosovo's PDK, to share the post of prime minister to have a model different from the majority today", said Sula in A2.
The two best candidates to be prime minister and to face Rama, according to Sula, are Jorida Tabaku and Gazment Bardhi.
"Bardhi and Tabaku are potential candidates for prime minister who are different from Rama and the majority, uncorrupted and with a vision that will make a difference. The figure of the prime minister must be separated from the figure of the party. Berisha should do it for the democrats, but those democrats have made him president and prime minister. If he thinks about himself and his family members, he has destroyed the right."
Sula sees Alibeaj's decision to leave the democratic group as a choice of his own, but he does not forgive him for bringing the PD into a dead end.
"I respect Alibeja, it's his choice, it's integrity, but Alibeja is not forgiven. He is the man who put the Democratic Party in this dead end after the March 6 elections. Our solution should not have been through court decisions, but to have been voted and elected with members in a legitimate process and the real union would have come and PD would not have split so badly. It was an insidious behavior to bring back Basha and gave oxygen to Sali Berisha. PD is not a court issue. The damage that Alibeaj has done is extraordinary".
