Democratic deputy, Kreshnik Çollaku says that he was and remains a DP deputy, despite the Appeal decision that Sali Berisha gave his stamp.
This verdict of the court, according to Çollak, does not make him change the party even though he opposes the president Sali Berisha and sees his wife as an obstacle to the success of the DP.
"I was, am and will remain a member of the DP. I continue to support the USA, I continue to support the justice reform, I continue to support SPAK, I continue to think that Berisha's non grata is an obstacle to the success of the DP, I continue that the DP should unite, but I remain a DP deputy.
This does not make me not feel like a DP deputy, not to ask for a DP bigger than the president, not to ask for a DP where not only change, but also opposites can coexist. This does not in any case make me leave the DP to create other subjects or to oppose the DP because I oppose the DP chairman. A strong opposition is when the DP is a united party", said Çollaku for Report TV.
For the show 'Sot Live in Albania', Çollaku says that he continues to stand by his convictions, unstinting support for SPAK and the alliance with the USA. Çollak sets the red lines, making it clear that he has no plans to leave the sign and the DP party for a new party. On the other hand, he says that he is ready to become a part of any grouping or faction within the DP that actually has opposite attitudes to those of the Berisha group.
"I stand by my convictions and principles about what I have said in these 3 years about the relations with the USA and the reform in justice. I can join and I am ready to join any opposing group within DP, I will not leave the logo and flag of DP to create a new party even though I have my disagreements with the chairman. Even those who are against Berisha have the right to be in DP despite the objections with the chairman or any chairman who may be tomorrow", said Çollaku for Report TV.
The democratic deputy admits that the situation is difficult and relations with the head of the group, Gazment Bardhi, are still frozen.
"I have had no contact with the leader of the group. There is a frozen relationship with the leader of the group, the fact that we remain in DP does not mean that the problems have disappeared", he said.
He calls on the Democratic Party to propose a unification plan to include those who supported Basha, stressing that everyone should have a place in the party. Çollaku says that it is not about 10 deputies, but for him the structure and membership that supported Basha and only such a union makes the party stronger.
"The DP union can be done with a realistic unification project. The merger comes when the entire structure, which until yesterday was called the official DP, feels inside the DP without being prejudiced that they opposed Berisha and support Basha. If we overcome this challenge, we have united PD", said Çollaku.
Çollaku also has a message for Lulzim Basha, whom he has unequivocally supported in the over 2-year-old confrontation against Berisha non grata.
"The political valence of Basha is greater if he stays within the PD, than another party. He was president, minister. I would advise him as a friend towards this attitude. I have made it clear that I will not align myself with any other entity that is not DP", said Çollaku.
