After the appeal decision of the Court of Appeal, which returned the logo and seal to Sali Berisha, Lulzim Basha has made public the addition made to the political force led by him.
Along with the slogan "Albania deserves more", with which the PD program was presented on June 1, the Democratic Party's logo has also been added to the "Euro-Atlantic Democrats". Since he announced a new party to participate in the upcoming elections, 'Euro-Atlantic Democrats' could also be the name of the new party.
The decision came immediately after the meeting of the College of Presidents.
"EUROATLANTIC DEMOCRATS" already identifies the Democratic Party, underlining the continuation of the fundamental and identity commitments with which this political force was born, as the first pro-Western force of Albanian pluralism. Keeping clear one of the principled differences that were at the center of the internal clashes that started after the declaration of Sali Berisha "non grata" and the latter's suspension from the PD parliamentary group.
An attitude that has been coherent in these 3 years, which was also underlined today by the Embassy of the United States in Albania, where it was stated that their attitude has not changed regarding the persons defined as "non grata". In the same message, the US Embassy stated that everyone should carefully examine how they work with individuals announced by the US," Basha said.
Earlier, Lulzim Basha stated that DP will appeal because he considers the decision of the Appeal to be illegal. He further added that the democrats will not withdraw and that the Albanians will have the alternative they are waiting for in the next elections.
"The Democratic Party will appeal to the Supreme Court, as it considers the decision taken by the appeal court illegal. The time has come to put an end to the 34-year lawlessness that holds Albania hostage to a group of individuals. In Albania, the time has come for justice to prevail, not injustice," said Basha.
