Lulzim Basha does not exclude the possibility of opening a new political party.
After the meeting with the Presidency and the College of Presidents, the former leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has revealed his views on the more than 3-hour meeting of these two collegial bodies.
In a statement to the media, Basha said that they will appeal to the Supreme Court for the decision of the Court of Appeal that gave the seal and logo to Sali Berisha.
According to Basha, the DP seal cannot be given to a group (Berisha's group) that is against Albania's western allies.
Lulzim Basha does not exclude the possibility of opening a new political party. He said that his political grouping will be in the elections and that Albanians will have an alternative to vote.
Will there be a new party name?
"Albanians will have their alternative. The appeal is made because there is a deep professional and legal conviction that the decision of June 11 is unfair. We will appeal to the Supreme Court, as we consider the decision taken by the appeal court to be illegal. In any case, the Albanians will have their alternative. PDSH will return to where it should be. The DP cannot be against our strategic allies the first is that, through the DPSH recourse, the Democrats will return to fight a battle.
Berisha is not the solution to remove Rama. In fact, it is Rama's only asset in the election.
Our position today is that through a recursion we will demand that the DPSH return to the values. In any case, our alternative will be in the election. The time has come to put an end to the 34-year lawlessness that holds Albania hostage to a group of individuals. In Albania, the time has come for justice to prevail, not injustice," said Basha.
The Court of Appeal in Tirana has decided on June 11 that Sali Berisha will receive the seal of the Democratic Party.
The judging panel was composed of the relator Alma Ahmeti and members Iliba Bezati and Elona Toro.
From the official PD, Indrit Sefa, Rezart Kthupi and Endri Hasa appeared in court, while from Rithemelimi, along with the legal representatives, there are also the main supporting deputies such as Flamur Noka, Gazment Bardhi, Agron Gjekmarkaj.
