Albanian citizens will head to the ballot boxes on May 11 to elect representatives to the Assembly of Albania and those who will govern them in the next four years. But will there be candidates with problems in the new party lists, or MPs who will have to give up their mandate in order to face justice?
This was one of the questions addressed to SP deputy Erion Braçe by the moderator Pranvera Borakaj in the show "Quo Vadis" on Vizion Plus.
Braçe said that even in the first lists, but this time it is not Edi Rama who decides on the names, but it is the District Political Leaders who bring the proposals to the Presidency of the SP, and then the selection is made.
According to him, Rama can intervene by correcting or correcting only after the lists have arrived so that the lists are comprehensive.
Borakaj: What should Edi Rama not do wrong so that a part of the deputies does not end up at the doors of SPAK again?
Brace: What he did. There are many people who will not believe what I say, but in that list of deputies who are in parliament today, or the list of mayors who are in office today, I cannot list more than 5-6, mayors Municipality, or 11-12 deputies that Edi Rama has decided personally, that he will be here, no he has not done this. I am a member of the Presidency of the SP and I have to say, I cannot do otherwise. It was the attribute of the Pollitka District Leaders to make the multi-name list of SP in the District. It was their attribute and they came to the SP Presidency meeting with proposals for a candidate for mayor. Then Rama intervened to correct, correct or make the list more inclusive in this case, since we have to say that a district political leader in this system is also subjective in what he does. There are cases when a District Political Leader thinks about themselves than about the other's vote, which makes the race unequal within the party.
Borakaj: Did they keep costs after these proposals they made?
Braçe: I don't believe it, but this is something that must be developed, within the SP, everyone must take responsibility for what they do.
