The deputy of the Socialist Party, Lavdrim Krrashi, during an interview, said that "January 21" should be retried, after the decision given by the Strasbourg Court, which makes the state responsible for the 4 murders that occurred in 2011.
He stated that the credibility of the Albanians in the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) is great, so this body of justice can take this case to investigate.
Regarding the influence of politics on the new justice system, Krrashi stated that this is impossible.
"The Strasbourg court showed that the judicial process that was held in Albania for the painful, shameful event, one of the biggest stains on Albanian democracy during 30 years, should be brought back for trial. It is important for the 4 families of the martyrs, the 4 families of the innocent citizens who were killed, it seems as if the waiting of those families, but also the society, for an ugly event of Albanian democracy is coming to an end. I'm not from the field, but I definitely have an opinion anyway. Bearing in mind that SPAK today is part of the Albanian public administration, it is one of the most trusted institutions in Albania today.
Credibility, it is as if SPAK investigates, it would be better. It is the biggest trust in SPAK. It is important to go to the end of an investigation to clarify an ugly event. Influence on European justice, influence on Albanian justice is impossible for any prime minister and who will be the next prime minister. Even less for international courts, but people have different imaginations and I can't comment," Krrashi told ABC News.
If the court will ask the Assembly to remove Sali Berisha's immunity, Krrashi emphasized: "What procedure the court will follow is completely up to the court. It is entirely up to the law what to do. How many times has the removal of immunity for members of the parliament been requested, due to dubious reasons for involvement in corrupt activities, the parliament has granted this permission from all sides. If this happens, it will definitely come to parliament and be subject to a vote. "The Parliament is ready to examine any request that comes, not only from the special court, but also from any other court or prosecutor in the Republic of Albania," he said.
