Democratic MP Oerd Bylykbashi has emphasized the importance of guaranteeing security and transparency for the diaspora vote in this year's elections.
"The diaspora's right to vote will remain uninterrupted. What I wish is to curb any attempt to stop or manipulate it," Bylykbashi declared, stressing that the process should be free from any kind of interference.
According to him, the possibilities for manipulation remain many, therefore the role of the Central Election Commission (CEC) and political parties is crucial. "CEC and political parties must establish clear rules that guarantee that this vote comes and is counted safely", he said as a guest on the "Log" show.
Bylykbashi underlined the necessity of creating a strong legal and procedural framework, which will ensure that the vote of the diaspora is a strong pillar of the democratic process. The deputy called for institutional cooperation to avoid any kind of deformation of the will of Albanian citizens living abroad.
