The country's Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that a good part of corruption in the country has been cleaned up by the digitalization of public services alone.
In the studio of the "Opinion" show on TV Klan, Rama emphasizes that the fact that complaints related to corruption have decreased shows that corruption has decreased in the country.
The head of government also focused on public procurement, which he said is assessed by an EC instrument as the most integrity-based procurement in the region.
Edi Rama: If we are at the table with the EU today and it has given us a deadline of 2027, this is precisely because we have done many things in the aspect that we are talking about because if we had not done them, we would not have had a chance to sit at the negotiating table. I am giving you a very simple example. Albania has been a country in line to receive a certificate and has been a country of municipalities in every way. Only by transforming public services that we have switched to digital services have we cleaned up a considerable part of that corruption. Secondly, public procurement in Albania is evaluated by Sigma, which is an instrument of the EC, as the procurements with the most integrity in the region. In terms of the process, the process is a completely different thing. In university entrances, remember how they were done.
