The head of LZHK Dashamir Shehi has declared that a real electoral reform is needed to completely change the system.
Invited to the show "Open" on News 24, Shehi said that the electoral system needs a radical change, and even proposed to introduce the electronic counting of votes. But according to him, the big parties, the SP and the DP, did not want something like that, which is why the reform has remained at an impasse.
" Year after year, reform takes place here, every time the elections are held. Since the 2008 agreement was made, nothing has changed. A real reform, what the public and the OSCE want, a reform that changes the electoral system, the electoral districts, that is, we have a hope that with new rules of the game, there will be a change.
None do! This idea with partisans and ballistas, the prime minister of Albania in 2024, does not need to take conflicts of 90 years ago. If real reform is needed, I am for changing this system. If he will not do it, the best thing is to spare the Albanians this banal theater. A part of the opposition will not change it because they have done it themselves. Let's open the list, that is, the mayor should put his own list but also give opportunities to those who have votes. Let's change the way of counting, count them electronically or make a system independent of the parties ", said Shehi.
