Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj have emerged as the only socialists in the new membership campaign with the thesis of "opening the SP".
They are the only senior leaders of the majority who are giving tesseras to the wind, for people who not only have no connection with the SP, but who in most cases were voters and even supporters of the Democratic Party.
This whole strategy is no accident. And it is not for nothing that they have as their main character Erion Veliajn, who, although already an old socialist, never had a good relationship with the SP of Tirana.
It is enough to see the capital, where if you are an "old socialist" you are considered a man of Saimir Tahir, Belinda Balluku, Koçi Xoxes and other enemies of the party.
The old socialists are really the strongest enemies of the current dome of the SP, as Edi Rama fears them, a left-wing political line within the SP. Where there is no shortage of movements, even though the so-called senators do not hesitate.
Ditmir Bushati, for example, has not been in power for 5 years now, he has been a deputy for four years. However, Bushati is a very public person. As an intellectual, the former foreign minister is running a high-profile podcast, where he has so far interviewed a significant number of European center-left personalities.
From Romano Prodi to Janis Varoufakis or Roberto Saviano, characters who today are returning to positive developments of the left in Europe.
By the way, in Rome, the dome of the European Socialist Party gathered a few days ago to help the Italian left in the elections. Where Edi Rama was not invited, as he is considered a leader closely connected to the right.
Even yesterday at the base of Kuçova, Edi Rama, the person close to him was a nostalgic of the old right in Italy, the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, who is a big lobbyist of the Italian armaments industry. To whom, it seems, he gave a 'slice' of the production of ammunition for Ukraine in Albania.
Edi Rama, his best friends in Europe today, have Giorgia Meloni, Viktor Orban and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the most populist, sovereignist and most dangerous right wing in the European Union.
Geopolitically, Rama can be justified because after all these characters are in the government. OK! But his relationship with them is beyond a state connection, it is ideological, where SP is reflecting exactly this context.
But, on the other hand, there are enough voices in the Socialist Party who want a left-wing doctrine, even after all they call all those who think as left. Edi Rama is afraid of this, so he is aiming to turn the SP into a party where the left as a concept is as marginal as possible.
This is really the most important political development in Albania, apart from the idiocy of the opposition that goes after Berisha. Edi Rama is taking advantage of this situation to get rid of every angle that thinks to the left, but in the end he will vote for the SP out of fear of Berisha's danger.
The Socialist Party today is a party of power in the first place, a party of the strong in the second place, and in the third place it is a party of oligarchs. And one day, even very soon, someone will speak. Someone who does not receive a salary from Edi Rama and Lali Eri, they are both afraid of this, so they are looking to change the reports. But in reality it's all media because the socialists, the real ones, are waiting for a Messiah, even a false one, just to give up these people who support the extreme right. This is actually the real conflict in Albanian politics that will not only lead the SP to the opposition, but will bring down and destroy the entire clan of Edi Rama, who smuggled the Socialist Party.
