Democratic MP Dashnor Sula has revealed the secrets behind why Berisha left him off the list of candidates. He was invited today to the podcast 'Të Pashoj' on the Pamflet YouTube channel. Sula revealed some of the actions that Berisha has not forgiven him for all these years and punished him.
-Why did Berisha leave you off the list of candidates?
I have been accused of some things that do not fit the path followed by Mr. Berisha, in relation to some approaches. With all due respect to all colleagues, excluding analysts and journalists who have been in support of SPAK, among politicians I have probably been the only one without hesitation and clearly without any innuendos who throws a stone in defense of SPAK and then hides for days and months. I have been present with unchanged positions.
-Do you believe 100 percent that SPAK was the reason?
I was the first after the election loss to say that Mr. Bash should step down from the leadership of the DP. I also told Berisha and his people. I told him to step down because we will lose the elections again. Berisha's people made sure that Basha was elected president in June 2021, while the September decision was a wrong decision by Basha in relation to Berisha, without convening the Presidency and the National Council. I have stood by this opinion and have asked Mr. Berisha not to lead the DP into a dead end.
-This is what you are answering for today...
This was the first moment when I did not join Mr. Berisha, because 3 months ago he was in favor of Mr. Basha, then when he was attacked he came out against. Don't forget March 6, 2022, in the by-elections I was the only person who took over the municipality in Rrogozhina and I brought out the Third Force Platform. And I got 600 votes for Mr. Berisha. He did not forgive me. If you remember the debate for the Assembly of April 30. I said let's all be together, it was not realized. One-sided elections were held and I did not accept them. I said that Mr. Berisha should be at the head of the opposition, but as for the prime minister, he should be a figure of unity for the democrats opposite Edi Rama. I even mentioned specific names of what the prime minister's model should be.
-There is one thing that stands out. You rightly said that Berisha took revenge. But to clarify this. You were with some other colleagues in these positions. But they were included, even in a closed list. Why didn't you take revenge on Korresh? You were together. And you had the same rhetoric.
My language has been harsher, more direct. I respect Mr. Korreshi. But don't forget that he has a district leader, Mr. Bardhi. Korreshi did not have a colleague Dumani, Dado, etc. He did not work in the justice system. I have worked with them. I have been in unequivocal defense of SPAK. In the parliamentary group, I have demanded that the court's decision on the security measure against Berisha be respected. I can find a colleague of mine who spoke out when a debate began about the election of Mrs. Malltezi as head of the DP. I can find a statement. I have said in several media outlets that Mrs. Malltezi should not be considered coming.
