While it was reported on Wednesday that the condition of the former historical leader of the SP, Fatos Nano, was improving, a message today from his successor, Prime Minister Rama, has rang alarm bells. In a post where he announced that he was honoring Nano with the "Star of Gratitude" decoration, the head of government openly said that he is going through "difficult hours" and that "he is fighting for his life.
The former head of the SP in the years 1991-2005 was hospitalized two days ago in a private hospital and the news that was given is that his condition was so serious that he had to go straight to intensive care to be intubated.
This bad news was softened a day later and it was even announced that Fatos Nano had improved and was getting ready to leave the hospital. The information was so contradictory, since the fate of the hospital's most VIP patient, there was an iron guard to preserve the health secret.
However, sources from the hospital, confirmed by relatives of the former socialist leader, claimed for Lapsi.al that the condition of the patient is very serious.
"It risks being irreversible", said the source when asked about the fact why Edi Rama talked about "difficult hours of the struggle with life".
"He was re-intubated as his condition worsened. He suffers from pulmonary fibrosis which has worsened a lot since he passed a severe covid," the source said.
Rama wrote in a message that he prays for him, while the old socialist Erion Braçe, after learning about his serious condition, made a post: "You don't give up."
Although Nano's condition is kept secret, his illness is related to the respiratory system and that he has been suffering from deep breathing difficulties for several weeks.
Nano left the prime ministership in 2005, the deputy four years later, and since then has only had very rare public appearances. He reconciled with the man he supported the most but also hated the most in the years of the feud, Edi Rama, and gave him a moderate support during holidays or campaigns. Along with disappearing from the public scene, Nano plunged into a retreat and sedentary life that surely affected his health.
