The deputy of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, through a post on "Facebook", says that because of the government's policies, the village is dying.
According to her, the main reason is related to the deals made by collectors. Tabaku says that the majority always suffers and the minority benefits and that the village is dying because of government policies.
Tabaku says that this condition of the village is reflected every day in the lands that are planted, but also in the number of cattle heads that come and go.
Tabaku emphasizes that the factor in the situation where the village is today is the removal of the VAT refund for farmers, but also the devaluation of the euro, which has caused imported products to be sold cheaper than local ones.
"Who goes shopping sees that all prices have increased. Fruits and vegetables are more expensive today. Why do they cost more? Although we have 20% of our economy coming from the countryside. Today, unfortunately, the village is dying! This is reflected every day; in the cultivated and planted lands, in the number of heads that have fallen by 25%, in the products that the village produces today. 20% of imports increased with agricultural products, while exports decreased by 8%. Why does this happen? For a very simple reason; government policies.
First, they removed VAT and the VAT refund for farmers, and it brought about a 20% increase in all prices. That's why the farmers who pour milk in Fier, Lushnje and Gjirokastër are protesting today.
Second, the euro has been devalued by 25% and this has made the products coming from abroad to be sold cheaper than those produced in the country. The blessed Albanian land with Made in Albania products unfortunately does not make it at these prices", says Tabaku.
