The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has warned that there may be measures to stop the use of social networks by persons under 16 years of age.
His statement was made from Durrës, after a meeting with the police chiefs in this district. He was asked about the suicide of Bedrie Loka, as a result of bullying on Tik Tok. Balla said that her case has not been forgotten and measures will be taken regarding the use of social networks.
" This is a discussion that will not go back and will not be left in the drawer anymore. It is part of my priorities, as far as the protection of citizens' private lives is concerned. As for the protection of mainly children and young people from phenomena such as bullying, bullying knows no age. Today I became aware of an initiative taken by one of the US states, in Florida, to put restrictions on the use of social networks, that is, to prohibit the use of social networks by children under 16 years of age. I think it's a good idea. Citizens should refer any problem with social networks to the police. In Durrës we have a special section ," said Balla.
