On the day of national mourning for the passing of Pope Francis, the Democrats and Socialists did not stop their electoral campaign.
Rama was not at the Vatican for the ceremony, but even though he canceled the meeting in Fier due to the day of mourning, he gathered the SP candidates in Tirana this morning in a private setting in the capital.
Meanwhile, for the opposition leader, the next meeting was the Lapraka neighborhood in Tirana, from where he repeated the invitation for a public debate about Rama.
"I invite him to come to this stage, to have a debate in front of you. If I bring the socialists from the neighborhood here, I accept them, but he doesn't trust the socialists either. He has no program, his program is a swamp, a fraud, a swindle," said Berisha.
Despite the hand outstretched for confrontation, Berisha expressed his belief that there will be no confrontation in this campaign, as Rama said he has ordered everyone to avoid debates.
"For two months now, he has been ordering his candidates to stop facing our candidates. He doesn't want you to know the truth."
There was also a comment on the initiative recently presented by Rama, the fiscal peace with business. "What is his fiscal peace, his fiscal peace is amnesty, it is paradise for the criminal world, it is punishment for you, dear citizens."
At this meeting, the opposition leader was accompanied by several of his international friends, the president of the Order of Malta and the Croatian government minister, Nina Obuljen.
