Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, in a press conference focusing on Donald Trump's invitation to the country's Prime Minister Edi Rama to join the "Peace Board", reacted to the opposition's accusations and the $1 billion condition.
During her speech, Minister Spiropali considered this invitation a high assessment made to Albania by US President Donald Trump and criticized the numerous reactions that have circulated in the media and from the opposition, saying: "This good news for Albania's name has been followed by a river of nonsense..."
"Exactly at a moment of special symbolism and weight, the outskirts of our political scene are illuminated as if Albania was invited in person. In Tirana, the madmen are bursting into the air and are giving all kinds of stories with billions of dalas that we will pay for the board...", she added.
According to the minister, this direct invitation from President Trump confirms the strength and mutual trust of strategic stability.
On January 18, Prime Minister Edi Rama distributed the invitation he received from President Trump for Albania to be part of the Board. He has invited Rama to represent Albania in joining as a founding member state and becoming a party to the Peace Board Statute.
The Prime Minister says this achievement will bring together a group of distinguished nations that are ready to shoulder the noble responsibility of building lasting peace.
