The well-known journalist Fatjona Mejdini has reacted to the debate about Edi Rama's involvement in the European elections using the immigrants' card as a mechanism.
Meloni's visit to Tirana a few days before the elections and her use of a foreign immigrant card caused accusations to explode.
In this regard, Mejdini writes that Rama has only personal benefits from the pact for immigrants.
"Edi Rama is neither fascist, nor grateful, nor Italianophile, he is only a pragmatist. The decision to allow Italy to build camps in Albania for immigrants from African countries is a calculated diplomatic move to equip Albania with the power of using immigrants as a weapon, which (unfortunately) you can use to blackmail and benefited more from the EU. Rama has seen how immigrants are being used as a weapon by member countries or not in the EU and now he wants his share of the cake!"
Giorgia Meloni came for a visit of only 150 minutes to Albania to see closely the implementation of the agreement for asylum seekers that provides for the establishment of two centers, the one for the reception of immigrants in Shengjin and their accommodation in Gjadër.
In the joint press conference, both Rama and the Italian Prime Minister rejected the accusations after the publication of the show "Report" on Rai3 that the Albanian government is a narco-state.
While Rama answered the critics about what Albania benefits from the establishment of these two centers.
"We have not asked for any Euro, because if we had asked, we would not be here. What the local economy here will gain from this agreement, we have not made these calculations. It is terrible to see how this agreement has been commented until the awarding of the tenders of the Albanian Malavita center. Everything is administered by the Italian side".
According to the agreement signed on November 6 of last year, these two centers will treat all immigrants who arrive from Africa to the shores of Italy.
