The Socialist Party, Vlora branch, has sent a request to the CEC to extend voting hours until 9:00 PM.
Voting for the May 11 elections begins at 07:00 and closes at 19:00, but the Socialists of Vlora are demanding that this process be extended by two hours in the coastal city.
This request comes because tomorrow, May 11, the third stage of the "Giro d'Italia" will take place in the city of Vlora.
This event is one of the most prestigious international cycling competitions.
In order not to prevent citizens from voting the next day, the SP branch in Vlora has deemed this request to the CEC reasonable. It is not known whether the CEC will approve such a request, but if this happens it will be a special case, due to the fact that in previous electoral processes there has been no postponement of voting hours, with the exception of an extension of a few minutes, when there was an influx of voters at the polling stations.
