Deputy Agron Gjekmarkaj, commenting on the "Partizani" case and the investigations against former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, said that he supports justice.
In an interview on the show "Real Story" on 'ABC', Gjekmarkaj said that SPAK should be encouraged and do its job and not fall prey to anyone.
"Empirically, I want to believe in justice and I have stayed away from comments on this issue even though it can be politicized. I believe that the justice system should have mechanisms to investigate even those raised by Mr. Berisha. The lady must also prove when she bought it, who she bought it from and whether or not there is a conflict of interest. I have supported the justice reform even with my reservations.
But I think that SPAK should be encouraged in its work and I hope it does not fall prey and should be distanced from the government. Justice is a procedure, it applies to everyone. In the case of Berisha, there was an open violation of the MP's rights, violating the regulation, and this should be a concern for every parliamentarian. Justice is the only hook on which citizens' hopes are caught, and politicians must support it but also hold it accountable when it becomes one-sided ," said Gjekmarkaj.
For his part, analyst Skënder Minxhozi said that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha wants to turn everything into a circus.
" We find ourselves in the same situation when a person in tragic moments for the country where he was either a protagonist or an accused, we know his behavior. His behavior is; "I receive justice inside my office", and today we are seeing that the trial for the Partizani club is being held everywhere. Berisha, in every accusation where he is involved in the first person, he wanted not to go to the Prosecutor's Office. We have known for years his behavior in relation to justice, he wants to take it on a populist path, but it is not concerned with overturning chairs in parliament. Berisha wants to turn everything into a circus ," he said.
