In today's plenary session, the Minister of State for Relations with Parliament, Toni Gogu, made a strong statement in the Assembly, where he responded to the accusations of the opposition and in particular former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, whom he referred to as "the gentleman of January 21".
Referring to the reports and debate on the High State Audit Office, the minister emphasized that former Prime Minister Berisha is attempting to manipulate the public.
"The Supreme State Audit reports to the Albanian Parliament, not to the government. The Supreme State Audit has not come to do politics with the government."
The government is accountable to this Assembly when using those instruments of parliamentary control, as MPs know how to use within the legal and regulatory framework and before the voters.

"But even in front of the citizens of this country, because, as you see today, equality is being discussed, and that gentleman of January 21 has discriminated by killing, torturing, and dismissing people from their jobs, just because they were socialists," said Toni Gogu.
