The Democratic Party will hold the Primary Election on March 1, where members will vote for candidates for MPs of this political force. And while the names of those who will compete are announced almost every day, Helidon Bushati, the DP MP in the Shkodra region, has announced that he will not be participating in the primaries.
In this way, MP Bushati seems to have withdrawn from the battle to be part of the Parliament that will emerge from the May 11 elections.
"Personally, I have chosen not to participate in the primaries and as a result I give up my aspirations to be a candidate for MP. This is not a personal decision, it is a political and moral act."
"However, this decision does not mean that our common journey will end. On the contrary, I will be where I have always been, close to the Democratic Party and the Democrats," Bushati announced in a post on social media.
He further writes that "coherent in my beliefs, unwavering in the values for which we have worked, and as necessary for the resurgence and victory that we all aim for, Berisha, for the Democratic Party and its leader Sali Berisha."
In the 2021 elections, Bushati was the political leader of the DP for the Shkodra Region, and was among the most voted deputies with preferential votes.
