Elisa Spiropali, Minister for the Parliament, called the arrival of the American Secretary of State in Tirana as a milestone in the relations with the USA, deepening the partnership between the two countries even more.
"The interest of Albania and the Government coincide, I want to say with conviction that this meeting was a milestone in relations with the USA and a deepening of our strategic partnership, a relationship that has deepened in terms of security, peace in the region, the international factor , the role in the world and I believe that Albania has its role in this whole framework", said Spiropali in "Top Story".
The minister emphasized the role of our country in the position held in the UN Security Council, as a partner of the USA, alongside Ukraine, and the important role in NATO.
"Albania has just come out of a task performed in the highest possible way in the Security Council, as a partner of the USA, it has proven that it is a determined partner of the USA and its countries. It is a trusted partner in NATO and especially in recent years, where there has been a need to increase the budget, we ask for security but we also provide security, such as housing the Afghans and to continue for all the partnership they have given us, saw Albania as a geostrategic interest. Albania is a country where we have the most important NATO base, but also in the whole of Eastern Europe, and the justice reform could not have been done without the strong support of the USA ", said the minister.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has delegated the interpellation requested by the opposition to Minister Elisa Spiropali, but was opposed by deputy Agalliu, who said that Rama cannot hide behind Spiropali. Asked by Grida Duma for a comment, Spiropali said: "I am a minister without a pocket, I do that duty and that job, I have also made other interpellations in the Assembly. I feel sorry for my colleague Agalliu who was shouted at and his microphone was stepped on in the ugliest way. I don't understand why they are so shy that opposition MPs don't react."
