Lawyer Jordan Daci has reacted after his name was included in the list of candidates for the National Council of the Democratic Party, stating that he had no prior knowledge of such a proposal and that he has not expressed any willingness to run for office in the structures of this political force.
In a public statement, Daci clarified that he is not a member of the Democratic Party and that he has not submitted any request or consent to be included in the race for the National Council. He requested that his name not be interpreted as a sign of affiliation, support or political commitment, emphasizing that he is not part of the political process taking place in the DP.
Daci announced that his current commitment is related to running for judge in the Constitutional Court. According to him, this process requires respect for the principles of independence, impartiality and non-involvement in political activity.
" Regarding recently made public information, according to which my name has been proposed as a candidate for the National Council of the Democratic Party, I feel obliged to explain correctly and calmly that I am not a member of the Democratic Party, I have not submitted any request, consent or expression of will to run in its structures, and I had no prior knowledge of such a proposal.
While maintaining respect for any citizen or structure that may have evaluated my name, as well as thanking any proposer who may have acted in good faith, I must clearly state that I do not agree with the inclusion of my name in this process and request that it not be considered an expression of my personal, professional or public will.
Currently, my institutional and professional choice is related to the candidacy for judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania. For this reason, I fully adhere to the constitutional principles of independence, impartiality, integrity and non-involvement in political activity, which are essential for any candidate who intends to serve the country in such a high constitutional function.
This clarification is not intended to create public debate, controversy or political misunderstanding, but only to avoid any incorrect interpretation of my position. I have not been and am not part of this political process, and my name should not be used or interpreted as a sign of party affiliation, support or commitment.
"I will pursue with seriousness, humility and responsibility the institutional path of running for the Constitutional Court, with the conviction that, if the relevant organs of the institution entrust me with this task, I will serve the Republic of Albania only on the basis of the Constitution, law, independence and public interest," explains Daci.
