This Tuesday, the "Strategy for the Protection of Crime Victims" conference was held, where Interior Minister Taulant Balla was also present.
Balla blames the Tik Tok platform for spreading violence in the country, calling it harmful to Albanian society.
He says that the state's treatment of persons who have been victims of a criminal event remains a problem, domestic violence is one of these aspects. According to him, to fight this emergency situation, the help of all actors of society, including the media, is needed.
The Interior Minister emphasized that TikTok, as an aspect of new online media, is harmful to society and a platform that incites violence.
" We are in the conditions of an emergency situation, which requires immediate addressing and this is not achieved only with the force of the law, this is achieved by all coming together, creating a national coalition of all actors, whether actors of state institutions, but also of civil society, and of the media, because we have to admit it, I'm not talking about the traditional media, but there are now new media elements and I am at least in this aspect, I am very clear about the destructive role of TikTok in this aspect as an uncontrolled spreader of violence and the damage it creates to society. But we need to start dealing with the high number of victims ", said the Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla, among other things.
Other countries have also expressed concern about the role of TikTok. In the US, this social network is considered a national security risk. For this reason, state officials have been banned from using TikTok. Similarly, the officials of the European Union have been banned from using the social network TikTok.
