The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Ermonela Felaj, explained to Euronews Albania the steps that will be followed by the Assembly to remove Sali Berisha's immunity.

She emphasized that SPAK's request will be placed first on the agenda when the day of the hearing is decided.

According to Felaj, after the end of the meeting of the Mandates Council, which will be held on Monday of next week, a report will be made which will be presented to the Assembly but which has no room for discussion.

"There is a time available. It starts from one day to two weeks, to present the report to the Assembly of Albania. This report is previously made known to all members of the Assembly of Albania. As for the session where this request will be considered, it is set as the first item on the agenda of that plenary session and the deputy has the right to express his position in front of the entire Assembly regarding the SPAK request.

Meanwhile, the report of the Regulation Council on Mandates and Immunities is not subject to discussion. The Council's report is a guideline for them, while the deputies decide whether or not to grant the authorization for open voting. First, the floor is given to the Special Prosecutor's Office and then it is operated with questions, either by the interested party or by the members of the Council of Mandates, Regulations and Immunities. Deputies lose their mandate only if they do not come to the Assembly for 6 months in a row," she said.
