Rama gave pensioners only 5,000 new lek, half of it practically because the prices continue the tradition of growth in Albania and for this 'bonus', he justified himself that this amount would like to be bigger but the number of pensioners is very high up.

While Prime Minister Edi Rama gives long speeches about the principles of the left, his counterpart in Kosovo has made these promises a reality.

Unlike Albania, this year-end in Kosovo, each child and each pensioner will receive 100 euros each.

The left parties therefore basically have strong support for the middle classes, which is more connected to liberal values, the role of society and the welfare state.

Thus Prime Minister Albin Kurti at the beginning of the Government meeting said "I believe you remember the promise that every year each child will benefit from 50, 100 or 150 euros, depending on the income of the parents. This year we have decided that all children without distinction will benefit from the scheme and the amount of the benefit will be 100 euros.",

He said that they are planning "to make this scheme even more sophisticated, starting to implement the declaration of annual income by all beneficiary parents".

This, according to Kurt, "so that there is a difference in support" and so that "those with less income benefit more".

"For all pensioners this year-end, in order to ease the cost of living for this vulnerable category, we will approve a one-time supplement of 100 euros, in addition to the regular monthly pension they receive," said Kurti.

Meanwhile, the Council of Ministers led by Edi Rama approved on December 4 the end-of-year bonus that will be distributed to pensioners and other people who benefit from financial treatments.

The Minister of Finance, Ervin Mete, announced that a fund of 3.5 billion ALL has been approved and pensioners will benefit from the amount of 5 thousand ALL, practically half of the cock because the prices continue the tradition of increasing in Albania.

For this 'bonus', a few weeks ago Prime Minister Rama himself justified himself that this amount would like to be larger, but the number of pensioners is very high.

In next year's budget, we have allocated another 250 million euros for pensioners. We would like this amount to be even greater, but in the meantime we have more than ever before and we must never forget that firstly the number of pensioners is very high and secondly the huge gap created over decades by the non-payment of social security is a pit not yet closed. In the 2024 budget, 33% of the total goes to social care, including pensioners. Unlike other years, precisely because we have a better financial situation, we will start giving it immediately, within a few days the distribution of bonuses will begin. " said Rama from the General Assembly of the SP./ Pamphlet
