Albanian-American activist Evi Kokalari has posted on social media a reaction to the statements of Chris LaCivita, who a day earlier said that he does not work for the communists.
Kokalari states in her post that Sali Berisha is the communist who leads the opposition in Albania, while she has published a card from the Albanian People's Party, which shows the connection of the democratic leader with Enver Hoxha's party, but also some photos from that time with the dictator.
"I'm sharing with you a post I made where I explained to Chris LaCivite what I've understood over the last three years that I've been involved in a little bit of politics in Albania," Kokalari writes.
Referring to LaCivita's recent interview for Syri TV, where he said that "he defeated the communists and socialists in the US, he defeated them in Albania as well", Kokalari writes that "with all due respect, Chris, you defeated no one. President Trump, Elon Musk, RFK Jr., Vivek, Tulsi and President Trump's loyal base did all of this. Of course you helped, but you did not win against the socialists and communists of America. This was a misleading comment made to Albanians, and this is not fair".
"If @ChrisLaCivita doesn't know, let me explain that he already works for the communist leader of the opposition," Kokalari wrote, among other things.
She further states that “Sali Berisha was the communist infiltration that took the party hostage, removed most of the bright minds and right-wing elements, many of whom were persecuted by the communist regime, and killed democracy in Albania. Rama, Berisha, and Meta (former president and a current socialist sitting in prison for corruption) have rotated power among themselves for the last 33 years. I refer to them as the post-communist regime and the corrupt elite that must be completely destroyed before conservatism can flourish in Albania. Edi Rama is the corrupt politician that Albania needs to get rid of, but as I learned in the last three years, Sali Berisha is the communist who will not let the opposition succeed in removing Rama because he wants to lead the party so he can use it to protect himself and his family from the corruption investigation and the sanctions of the US and Great Britain.”
"Albanians are not stupid and do not trust Berisha and that is why Berisha does not have the votes. Here I must add that there is no meritocracy within the party. They believe in having a voting process and now that I have postponed it, they are implementing the primaries, but again I have caught them stealing and manipulating votes for their friends in 2022. So basically the party has zero democracy. Berisha tells his loyalists who he wants or does not want in the party and leadership, and they find a way to do it.
"So @ChrisLaCivita, ironically, you are working for a communist, and sadly, a Republican and someone who was part of the MAGA campaign, you are harming the true conservatives in Albania who need to get rid of Berisha in order to get rid of Rama. Otherwise, Edi Rama will win again next May, because Rama is not stupid enough to allow someone as corrupt as Berisha to take power," Kokalari wrote, among other things.
