The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted after the latest episode of Prime Minister Edi Rama's "Flasim" podcast, where the Albania-European Union intergovernmental conference held in Brussels was commented on.
Through a video message published on social networks, Berisha leveled accusations against the head of government regarding the European integration process, the fight against corruption, and the management of projects in the field of technology and digitalization.
According to Berisha, Rama did not represent the interests of Albanians in Brussels, while he accused him of having connections with people involved in various issues that, according to him, violate the integrity of the institutions.
The opposition leader also focused on the report related to the European integration process, claiming that the changes made to the document highlight problems related to transparency and the fight against corruption.
In his response, Berisha also criticized the government's digital projects, calling them costly and non-transparent. He cited the costs of several recently announced projects as examples, claiming that public funds are being misused.
At the end of the message, the leader of the Democratic Party stated that the European integration process cannot move forward with the current government, while accusing the prime minister of using digitalization projects for political and financial interests.
Berisha's statements come at a time when the political debate between the majority and the opposition remains focused on the European integration process, the fight against corruption, and the functioning of public institutions.
"In the series of Sunday's deceptions, Edi Rama today stopped at the intergovernmental conference held in Brussels. First, it should be noted that he did not go to Brussels as a representative of the Albanians, he went as a representative of the Agasi and Çyrbja mafia families, which he decorated on the very day he left for Brussels and the day he signed the IBARI agreement.
These are ugly acts, which are worthy only of the head of criminal organizations and not the head of government.
As for IBARI, all Albanians learned today that 32 of the strongest amendments were made, which prove that Edi Rama has violated the most important principles of the fight against corruption and transparency.
Lubi Balluku is the black monument in that document, the electoral farce is another black monument in that document, so we express our gratitude to all member states that overturned that report and gave Edi Rama the deserved response.
In his series, he focused on the new AKSHI, after the original AKSHI was branded as a structured criminal organization, Edi Rama, in order to continue the thefts, created a new AKSHI that he called 'Albanian Digital Solution'.
I want to give you just one example. Yesterday you saw at the Democratic Party convention the avatar 'Skënderbe' which costs, has cost a total of 100 euros, while Edi Rama's avatar, Diella, has cost about 4 million euros. So, his digital ventures are, ventures in which, are his private pockets in which he, greedily, steals hundreds and hundreds of millions of euros.
In conclusion, we can say that with Edi Rama there is no integration and there cannot be, that digital Albania with Edi Rama is used to steal, to rob Albanian citizens. Thank you," Berisha said.
