Albanian Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha and his Kosovo counterpart Glauk Konjfuca held a joint press conference in Pristina today.
The head of Albanian diplomacy said that "Kosovo is an absolute priority for Albania", and even recalled the words of Prime Minister Edi Rama, that "whoever touches Kosovo, touches Albania".
"Kosovo has been an integral part of my table in 36 years of my diplomatic career. I feel deeply excited to be in Pristina on this first visit at the head of the MEPJ. The discussions we had today were open, sincere, fraternal. Kosovo is an absolute priority of our foreign policy. We agreed that the geopolitical dynamics in the region and in Europe require a further intensification of intergovernmental and diplomatic coordination. We committed to preparing the next meetings. Our cooperation should translate into more convenience and less bureaucracy. We discussed increasing the coordination of our foreign ministries at all levels, including diplomatic representations", said Hoxha.
At 10:00, he was received in a meeting by Albulena Haxhiu, Acting President of the Republic of Kosovo.
"You were the voice of Kosovo when Kosovo had no voice," Haxhiu said to Minister Hoxha, whom he congratulated on his appointment and praised his long diplomatic experience in representing Albania in international organizations and forums.
According to the Kosovo presidency, "the meeting discussed relations between Kosovo and Albania, coordination in foreign policy, as well as the implementation of agreements signed between the two countries."
