Prime Minister Rama is invited to the Annual Congress of Giorgia Meloni in Italy, a celebration which lasts 4 days from December 14 to December 17.
During the discussion on how to deal with illegal immigrants, Rama said that the reception center is not Guantanamo and that "respect is needed for the victims of real concentration camps".
"Persons rescued within the framework of the agreement for migrants between Italy and Albania will not be left at sea or sent to Guantanamo or a concentration camp as some say", said Rama.
He opposes the opposition as he says that we must respect the victims of the real concentration camps and Guantanamo.
Rama also said that the agreement with Italy is not unconstitutional.
"The Albanian Constitutional Court has fulfilled its duty, as according to the Constitution it is automatic to suspend an agreement in order to consider it before ratification by the Parliament. This is proof that I do not control the courts in Albania. I am confident, because the agreement has nothing unconstitutional. Until March is the deadline, but I think the decision will be made much earlier because it is a very important agreement and both governments need to know whether they can proceed or not. We had other requests from European countries to accept immigrants, but we said no", Prime Minister Rama said.
