With the 74 votes of the majority, the anti-corruption commission was approved yesterday in the Assembly, focusing on the rule of law, good governance and the fight against corruption. Both opposition groups, as they warned, did not participate in the vote except for 6 deputies. In an interview for "Studio Live" on Report TV, MP Saimir Korreshi spoke against the boycott.
"It's not that I don't care much about what they say, in my part I will keep this attitude there as well. I make a cold logic that the boycott has been bad for us all along. Time has shown that boycotts have brought us not zero but -100. To go to zero, we need a few years, to start competing with SP. We left a great force" , said Korreshi.
While analyzing the action of the opposition, the lawyer Romeo Kara called on the MPs of the opposition not to follow Sali Berisha.
" If the SP would do it on its own and it will definitely do it because there is no other way, I think it is the last but also decisive success to be homogeneous as a political force because it has been in power for 3 terms. Its biggest enemy has been the executive power and all other powers. The scandals are there, but the only thing that could justify the continuation of the fourth term and its integrity as a political force would be to take credit for bringing Albania to Europe. If DP and the other parties that are there would participate in the commission, it would seem as if they would contribute to the political success of SP and not them. Here the political parties do not overcome their goal. The boycott made them ridiculous and led to huge losses. We have spoken our words. I tell Saimir why are you hanging on a witch on the 7-8th floor who was known since December 90. He is in the force that I created. You were left hanging non grata , "said Kara.
Regarding the stance of the opposition with a boycott of the commission, Kara said: "When it has benefited both sides, they have come together. Regardless of beliefs we must have our integrity to express ourselves. We are talking about increasing capacities, SPAK does not receive permission from the commission".
