The Democratic Party will start today the procedures to open the elections for the new leader. At the request of some of the members, a meeting of the Presidency is planned at 17.00. Enkelejd Alibeaj and some members have initially asked for the definition of working groups that will review the entire process of identifying DP membership within the July 29 election process.
Also, they requested the approval of a regulation on the modalities of the electoral process. And the third point is the establishment of a Central Election Commission within the Democratic Party.
But the meeting is expected to be accompanied by debates. Gazmet Bardhi and several other MPs have opposed this process. In the Presidency, it has been proposed to command and replace the heads of branches, but Bardhi claims that he is the General Secretary and his signature is needed. Bardhi himself has even warned that he will not organize the elections, as he has also spoken about lawsuits in court.
