The Health Commission has called the interest groups to a public hearing, where the draft law on medical cannabis is being discussed.
In a discussion with representatives from the interest groups, Albana Vokshi responded strongly, speaking against this draft law. She says that the concern about this bill is very big because drugs are sold in schools and there are no controls.
Among other things, she asked the interest groups how this activity will be controlled.
Excerpts from the debate:
Vokshi: I believe that all of us who live in Albania, the law and order situation, the possibilities of control by the law enforcers, or the cannabisization of the country's territory. Every businessman wants to earn, that's why he entered the business, it may happen that we are like in the case of North Macedonia. To go beyond politics, but more as a mother, I think now is not the moment for this initiative. I think this should be seen later. As a parent, as a citizen of this country, do you agree that this initiative should be applied? How will this initiative be controlled?
Interest group: I am a parent of two boys, and before business I have their life. I don't care about anything else. We still don't know how to differentiate between industrial and medical cannabis.
Vokshi: How will this control be done? That criminal groups can get involved in this matter. can i speak May I ask you a question? Drugs are sold openly in the middle of the day in schools and you say let's apply it. Be careful when you talk to me like that! When I speak, listen to me. More ethics!
