The Albanian Ministry of the Interior has officially reacted regarding the assassination attempt with 6 killed in Greece, on Monday afternoon.
According to the announcement, it is said that the Greek authorities have notified the Albanian authorities, informing them that the victims have Turkish and not Albanian citizenship.
The Office of the Minister of the Interior has been following the event in Greece from the first moment and from the preliminary information from the Greek authorities we have been informed that the victims have Turkish citizenship with identity cards of an EU country. - announces the Minister of the Interior.
6 people were shot on a secluded road around 18:30 on Monday evening while traveling in a blue car with German license plates. Five of the victims were found dead inside the vehicle and the sixth, believed to be the driver, was outside.
None of the six victims - who have not yet been officially identified - were found to have criminal records in Greece, while the fact that none of them were armed is also being treated as potentially significant.
Forensic investigators have been searching the crime scene since Monday in search of evidence showing how the incident happened and the identity of the perpetrators, and have collected more than 20 shell casings fired from a handgun.
According to the information, the scenario considered the most possible by the authorities is that it is a question of laundering accounts, related to a drug case.
