The Minister of Interior gets brave in Parliament, attacks the opposition:
Minister of Internal Affairs, Albana Koçiu

This Thursday, the Parliament began its proceedings with a minute of silence in honor of the judge killed in the courtroom, but the debates are becoming even "heatier" by the minute.

After opposition MPs also demanded the resignation of the Minister of Interior, the latter also reacted.

Koçiu told the opposition that she was not responsible for the murder, but pointed the finger at the opposition, accusing it of lynchpin language towards judges.

"You know that some of you are lawyers here, if there was responsibility, a policeman would be under arrest today. The product of this reform is also the clear division of responsibility, I am not responsible for all this language you use. Here is clear evidence that your language, which only brings hatred. Shame on you, from morning to night, you should have changed the political narrative. You have shown how honestly you have done your duty as Minister of the Interior," said Koçiu.

It was the chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, who first demanded the resignation of the Minister of Interior, Albana Koçiu.

"This session should have opened with the resignation of the Minister of Interior. It is unacceptable for a judge to be killed in the courtroom, while reading his judicial decision. The Minister lied publicly when she said that the State Police has no obligations to guarantee security in justice institutions. According to the law, it is the duty of the State Police to guarantee security in these institutions. The Supreme Court exposed the Minister when it published the letters requesting the assistance of the Police. This issue cannot pass as an event of a day or a week. The Minister of Interior must resign. The Prime Minister must provide explanations for the security measures in the courts," said Bardhi.

Opposition leader Sali Berisha also made a statement in Parliament regarding the statements about the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja. He said that Minister Koçiu was exposed by the Supreme Court of Justice, while he described the minister as a fraud.

Berisha referred to the statement given by Koçiu that the police have no connection with the defense in the courts.

Koçiu's statement came after the murder of judge Astrit Kalaja in the courtroom.

The Minister of Interior, after the serious incident of the gunshot murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja inside the premises of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Appeal, Tirana, washed her hands of responsibility and declared that the Police is not responsible for controlling entry and exit and security inside court buildings.
