Mirela Karabina: Rama uses education for propaganda, teenagers distribute drugs

The spokeswoman for the DP-Euro-Atlantic Democrats, Mirela Karabina, said that the government continues to make propaganda with education and has not made any serious investment to increase its quality and safety.

Karabina says that Edi Rama continues to play with the sensitivity of parents and citizens regarding safety in schools.

According to her, security in schools has declined during Rama's corrupt government, as the cannabisization of the country has created the possibility and ease of distribution and use of narcotics by teenagers.

"The propaganda and failures of education reforms of Edi Rama and his corrupt government will cost society and the development of the country heavily for many years. Although there is a direct responsibility for the serious situation in education and the new school year has started with unresolved problems such as: 180 thousand students less in pre-university education and 295 9-year schools closed since 2013, a decrease of 40 % of the number of students in rural areas and 20% in urban areas which witness the massive depopulation of the country due to government corruption and loss of hope, 222 unfilled positions for mathematics teachers and language and literature teachers throughout the country due to the decline in interest to continue teaching and the government's indifference to priority branches that the country needs, about 10 billion lek from the state budget initially and added costs in these years of delay for schools damaged by the earthquake and 100 million Euros from the EU and still not have ended, the politicized teacher employment portal has left professionals in the field out of the system, replacing them with militants, Edi Rama not only does not offer solutions and lacks transparency and accountability, but continues with the same trickery, lies and deception.

Even at the beginning of this school year, ignoring the problems that plague the education system, as he has done in other years, Edi Rama continues to play with the sensibilities of parents and the public regarding safety in schools. Security in schools has been greatly shaken during the corrupt government of Edi Rama since the cannabisization of the country has created the possibility and ease of distribution and use of narcotics by teenagers. The testimonies of students, teachers and parents to the exposure and use of narcotics in schools are shocking.

And instead of taking responsibility for this serious situation and dealing with its cause and solution, Edi Rama, using state structures, only talks about the consequences and presents as the only success the capture of some citizens who distribute narcotics near schools. Propaganda with the installation of cameras to increase security in schools is simply the news of the day, because if the billions that have gone to the luxury of the government had gone years ago to investments in education, the installation of cameras and not only, would not be discussed at all today and school security wouldn't be so abysmal.

Therefore, today students, teachers and parents want quality education, qualified teachers, modern infrastructure and undoubtedly safety in schools for their children, as one of the first requirements in the hierarchy of needs.

But Edi Rama and the corrupt government have neither the political will nor the credibility to change the school and education after 12 years of letting it run freely. PD-Euro-Atlantic Democrats have an ambitious program for education through investment and concrete strategies to bring it back to normality and pave the way for the country's European development.

Students, teachers, parents deserve good and safe schools. Albanians deserve more, Albania deserves more", says Karabina.
