The Mayor of Lezha, Pjerin Ndreu, has reacted harshly to a denigrating campaign against him on the social network TikTok, after video montages were published, where he appears manipulated with well-known public figures.
Ndreu publicly denounced the offensive and untrue content that, according to him, was intended to damage his image, including citizens from Lezha in these manipulations.
"There were video montages where I appeared to be kissing Namik Dokle and some others. They also included women from Lezha. I had identified this page on TikTok for a year. After reporting it to the police, it was closed," Ndreu told "News 24".
The Mayor raised suspicions that political motives may be hidden behind these acts, implying that this is an attempt to strike him on the eve of important political developments.
"I'm sure I'm in two versions, A and B. One is for political reasons, the other is not. We're in a phase of doubt, but hasn't my intuition ever lied to me?" he said.
Ndreu also stated that he has engaged his friends to identify the authors of this campaign, while expressing indignation at the low level of language and content used.
