The Socialist Party has officially opened the campaign for the May 11 parliamentary elections, with a rally in 'Skënderbej' Square, conceived as a form of spectacle with music according to the regions and special guest artists.
The rally lasted about 3 hours, opening with Blendi Klosi as the leader of the Dibra District and closing with the Prime Minister, also the leader of the Socialist Party, Edi Rama, with a speech that lasted almost 1 hour.
Rama focused his speech on what he considered to be Albania's historic moment in joining the EU, but he also devoted several minutes during his speech to the opposition, which he labeled as a grand swamp, while other parties as small swamps.
Rama said that 'the owl snarled like mice' those who believed him the most.
" Even to applaud what is not said in that kind of religion is really to be born with a shirt on. That an owl is an owl, there is no question about that, but for the mouse there are many candidates, from the poor Luli, who forgot that he was a mouse and behaved like a bear, to the poor man from Kavaja, the winner of the Tirana primaries, who believed in the owl as a man and it stung him like a mouse. In his message, the Prime Minister appealed to Albanians to abandon false prophets, as he described those who preach ridiculous grandeur.
"They will finally deserve it, and they did not deserve it very much, they have taken this country hostage and turned it with their eyes on Asia, they will deserve their joy that is expressed more beautifully than ever in the immortal words of Gjergj Fishta, how the Albanian's mind rushed to enjoy vital freedom, a legacy left to him from the first, how much blood was shed and how much lies and betrayal, until Albania emerged on its own, God had not promised it.
Then comes the chilling sentence, "Forgive Albania, you are the spirit of my love." Believe this Albanian prophecy with conviction, believe this different moment because it is different not for us nor for you, but for our common Albania and unite with our majority.
Trust Albania in the EU. Abandon the false prophets, the ridiculous beings who preach ridiculous grandeurs or offer folk remedies for your troubles, which we must solve only together to be exalted in the history of Albania with Europe and of Europe with Albania. Today is the time for this high trust, very high trust.
